My Philosophy

At Bay & Beyond Sleepy Time Solutions, we integrate children's development into our sleep coaching program. As an early childhood expert turned sleep consultant, I firmly believe in the connection between sleep and development and the benefits of nurturing strong parent-child bonds, fostering positive family dynamics, and promoting more restful nights. I understand the importance of treating children with dignity, empathy, and understanding and creating an environment that fosters mutual respect. Focusing on the child as a whole is a holistic approach that acknowledges how all aspects of a child's growth and development mutually influence both their sleep quality and their ability to learn and thrive.

  • Emotional development: Helping children regulate emotions to calm and feel secure for better sleep.
  • Cognitive development: Well-rested children are more capable of learning and receiving information.
  • Physical development: Promoting motor skills and physical health helps children decrease their sleep drive, leading to more accessible and better rest.
  • Speech&Language Development: Improving communication skills helps children express their feelings effectively.
  • Social development: Fostering interpersonal relationships and social skills builds children’s self-esteem and confidence and decreases emotional distress.
  • Self-identity/moral development: Guiding children to understand themselves and their values promotes a sense of security and confidence at bedtime.

Here's how developmental aspects INCORPORATE into sleep coaching:

  • Label their emotions
  • Show empathy
  • Model expressing feelings
  • Promoting emotional regulation
  • Develop coping and problem solving skills

I offer little ones tools for learning and managing their emotional well-being.
Through these practices, children can:

My ultimate goal is to empower as many families as possible to achieve the best sleep for themselves and their little ones. Did you know, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), encompassing conditions such as postpartum depression and anxiety, affect approximately 1 in 7 women during pregnancy or in the year following childbirth, according to Postpartum Support International.By improving their child's sleep, parents can achieve better rest themselves, which can help lower the risk of developing or prolonging these conditions. I understand and seen the transformative benefits that hiring a consultant can provide for families, bringing about life-altering changes in their daily lives. Through my work, I aim to normalize sleep coaching and dispel any stigma surrounding it, recognizing that seeking help is a proactive step towards healthier sleep habits. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to guide and support families on their journey to better sleep. I genuinely look forward to making a positive impact in their lives.

These practices cultivate emotional resilience, self-awareness, and effective coping mechanisms.

Around 20% to 30% of infant to preschool-aged children experience sleep disturbances, such as bedtime resistance and night awakenings, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

“Vanessa helped us immensely, using her expertise and support to empower us to tackle our 4-year-old's
sleep challenges with confidence. We transformed bedtime into something we all enjoyed, and by the
fourth night, he was sleeping for 11 hours straight. Do yourself and your child a favor and hire her now!
 You will not regret it.”

-Allison

“She has a way of making everything fun for him, and she even gives us great tips on how to handle
difficult situations when we ask. She is super respectful of our wishes, and our son absolutely adores her.
She is very experienced both in time and in early childhood education. We really just can't rave about her
enough. She is a must-hire, hands down!”

-Mona

“Vanessa has also been extremely helpful in transitioning our son to new things- off bottles, new nap
schedules, new foods, etc. She knows him well and will not push him out of his comfort zone.
Along the same lines, she respects our parenting philosophy and household rules.”
